Green and Gray (Prologue/??)
Don't expect updates often - I'm not good with them. This is part of my Much!appreciation because it seems everyone seems to ignore that extremely important character... that and he is adorable beyond all belief.

Title: Green and Gray
Rating: K (this chapter), T (overall)
Chapter: Prologue/??
Notes: First, I own nothing (sadly), secondly I started to write this in my history class while we were talking about Caesar so if anything reminds you of that... whoops! Anyways *pokes* on with the show! Any editing errors are mine seeing as I've been too lazy to do so.

Much! So this was Robin's right hand man - and that meant she could get closer to Robin that much easier. No pun intended, of course.

Prologue: CrushCrushCrush

"My lord Sheriff? You called for me?" The Sheriff watched the girl for a moment as she dropped into a wobbly curtsy, "If you wish-"

He raised a hand to stop her, "Stop your blithering - I have a special job for you. And in exchange," He held up a bag, small and red, and she could hear the coins inside jingle. "You'll get this. Fail me and you'll be swinging from a noose around your pretty little neck."

Evy gulped as she bowed her head, "What do you want me to, my lord?" She was now trying to ignore the dark stare that Gisborne was giving her.

"I want you to catch me an outlaw. Not just any outlaw either." He stood up slowly and walked over to her until her was mere inches from her face, "I want you to catch me Robin Hood."

"My lord-"

He cut her off the protest by clamping a hand over her mouth, "This is your starting money- in case you need to gets something a little more... eye-catching." He took his hand off of her mouth and grabbed the bag before pressing into her hand. "Remember this - he dangles from a rope or you do, either is just as enjoyable to me." He told her in a menacing growl and returning to her elaborate chair. "Tick-tock, tick-tock, girl!"

"Yes, my lord." Even dropped into another curtsy and nearly fell over when Gisborne gave a dark chuckle. "I will do everything in my power to complete this task."

"Oh, I'm sure you will." He smugly stated as she walked out of the room. He turned his head to his henchman with an evil grin, "This, Gisborne, is true entertainment!" He clapped his hands. "Let the fun begin."

~ ~ ~ ~

Evy had never been a huge fan of Robin Hood, after all the more he stole the more the Sheriff taxed them all, but she had never wanted to kill him. She was a simple woman though and all she wanted was food in her belly, money in her pocket, a roof to sleep under and, of course, her life. And no matter how much good anyone may have thought Robin was doing she wanted to live.

That was when she felt someone bump into her and all of a sudden her belt was that much lighter. They had stolen her purse. "Oi! Give it here!" She roughly pulled the man around by his shoulder, apparently years of cleaning managed to strengthen her more than she had known.

He tried to appear nonchalant but his eyes that darted everywhere and the fact that he was sweating so much his blonde hair was plastered to his forehead gave away that he knew exactly what she was talking about. "What?"

"My purse, give it here! Its in your hand - that little red bag there." She told him in an exasperated tone, "I've had a long day so let me have my purse so I can get some meat."

"You'll be happy to know that ten percent of this will go towards the poor of Nottinghamshire." He dangled the bag in front of her eyes.

Evy glared for a brief second, contemplating her next move before quickly reaching out and attempting to snatch it. This caused a slight wrestling match as each tried to hold onto it, "I am the poor!" She hissed as she tucked the bag into a pouch on her belt. "So I will keep all of it."

"Really? What kind of poor woman walks around with a pouch of money?"

"The kind that are going to the meat market!" She deadpanned.

He looked sheepish, "Oh." He offered her a hand to shake, "Truce?"

"Yeah," She shook it lightly and was gladly surprised when he brought it to his lips and gave it a light kiss. "Yeah, yeah, truce!" She laughed.

"I really am sorry." She shrugged it off, she could easily understand in times like these. "I'm one of Robin Hood's men you see, and Allan said that I couldn't pick-pocket someone and I guess he was right -"

She arched an eyebrow at his rambling, "it's fine. I don't need your entire life story." All she could really think was that this was her way in - he was a part of Robin Hood's gang. "I'm Evangeline." She gave him a friendly smile, she was surprised it was so easy to be false.

"That is a pretty name." He told her with a grin to which she replied with a laugh.

He looked slightly wounded at her laughter and so she added, "It's a family name. Nearly every firstborn girl has been called Evangeline. You can call me Evy though." She gave him another shrug, "It's a lot easier to say constantly. And forgive me for being so bold but do you have a name, my good sir?"

"Evy it is." He looked flustered, something that she was seeing happened a lot, as she asked for his name. "Oh! Um, Much. My name is Much."

Much! So this was Robin's right hand man - and that meant she could get closer to Robin that much easier. No pun intended, of course. "I've heard of you." He grimaced as she fiddled with her sleeve, "You were made Earl of Bonchurch a while ago, weren't you."

He stared for a moment before regaining his voice. "Yes, I was. But now I'm back in the forest. Helping the poor."

Evy had to keep from rolling her eyes at that comment, it was almost sad how proud he sounded, but instead took a silver coin out of her purse. "Here." What better way was there to earn his and Robin's trust than by giving them money?

He looked startled, "No! I can't!" Much frowned as he heard a noisy bird-call, "I have to go."

She pressed the cold metal into his hand before he had the chance to leave, "I am giving it to you."

After a second of staring her relented and slipped the coin into his pocket, "When will I see you again?" He questioned as he attempted to walk backwards.

"I work in the castle!" She told him as her mind criticized her for leading a man who only wanted to do good into a trap, "So I am always in Nottingham."

"Great!" He yelled before turning away.

"Yes," She muttered to herself, "Great. Guess I will not have to buy a new dress after all." She smiled at that, not having to buy a new dress meant she could actually buy some right and proper food for once. Perhaps working for the Sheriff would not be so bad. All she had to do was her job - and that was to capture Robin Hood. She was having a feeling that would not be so hard - all she had to be was a damsel in distress.

As soon as that thought was in her mind she began to have a plan. She could be a damsel in distress, and she was sure the Sheriff would not object to it either.
